Draft. This text is a starting point written for the product team. It must be reviewed and approved by a qualified lawyer before Migrant is offered to customers.
1. Summary
Migrant moves your organisation's Microsoft 365 data from one tenant to another. The content itself (emails, calendar items, contacts) passes through the Migrant server that runs the migration and is written to the target tenant. It is not kept by Migrant after it is copied.
2. What Migrant stores
- Accounts and projects: user names, email addresses, licence names, mailbox sizes and item counts discovered from the source tenant.
- Migration records: item and folder IDs, progress, timestamps and error messages, so passes can resume and avoid duplicates.
- Tenant connections: tenant IDs, application IDs and a reference to the certificate used to connect. Certificates should be kept in Azure Key Vault.
- User profiles (when sign-in is enabled): name, email address, company and sign-in history.
3. Why we use it
Only to run, track and report the migrations you ask for, to secure the service and to provide support.
4. Where it is stored and for how long
[To be completed: hosting region (Microsoft Azure, UAE North), retention period after a project ends, deletion on request.]
5. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. [To be completed: list of sub-processors, for example Microsoft Azure.]
6. Your rights
[To be completed by counsel for India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the EU/UK GDPR and other laws that apply to your customers: access, correction, deletion, grievance officer contact.]
7. Security
Connections use certificate-based, app-only access with the least permissions needed; data in transit is encrypted with TLS.
